How to test your event

Before you publish your event and start ticket sales or registration, it is important that you thoroughly test the event.

When the event is in draft (marked in yellow on your event list), you can complete a test registration and experience the registration process exactly as the participant will – including test payment. You will also receive any test ticket/confirmation and receipt.

You can perform test refunds, download reports, set up discount codes – in short, you can do everything in the test that you would be able to do on the published event.

We recommend that you complete at least two test registrations – preferably more.

How to test the registration flow

  1. Click the Test registration button
  2. You now have 3 options:
    • Quick view – Quick view is recommended if you want to try out the registration form fields to see if the correct fields appear as desired. You do not go through the purchase flow, but only the registration itself
    • Full view – If you choose full view, you start a test purchase as the customer will experience it after clicking Buy ticket. You go through the entire purchase flow
    • Event page – Event page is ideal to use if you want to see how your event text and other information look to the customer. Here you start the registration as a customer who has clicked the Show more button. If you want to try the actual purchase, click Buy/register.
You can subsequently delete the test registrations if you need to by clicking Delete test registrations – otherwise they will be deleted automatically when you publish the event.
If you want to see how the event looks from the event list, do the following:
  • Click Share (event links) and then Go to event page

How to test event functions

Select the function you want to try by clicking on a function in the event overview.

You need to have made test registrations to try out the system's functions.

As mentioned earlier, you can try all functions, including among others.

  • Cancellation and refund of registrations
  • Setup of discount codes
  • Sending emails to participants
  • Changing orders
  • Setup and download of reports
  • Invitations

NB: Please note that the emails you use for test registrations are your own – or others involved in the event setup.

External test

If there are others in your organization who need to test the event, you can send them the link to the event and let them make a test registration.

The link can be found under Share (event links)

NB: Do not share the link with real customers before the event is published, as registrations made in test are invalid and will disappear when the event is published
